MB consult is the creation of Martin Borg, Founder and CEO, who has occupied several leadership roles in education and training over the last twenty years. Martin is a creative and a critical realist, with a strong passion for education and training.

Martin has occupied the position of Chief Executive Officer at the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (Malta’s regulator) in 2017. In addition, Martin has occupied several directorship positions at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology. In particular, Martin has strengthened the provision of work-based learning and apprenticeship in Malta with the implementation of apprenticeship and work-based learning act, increased the active engagement of local industry partnerships, ensured the facilitation of over 4,000 students in the world of work, and set the required governance and operational structures.

Martin also occupied the position of Director of Studies at the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS). Within this role, together with a strong executive team, ITS has today been transformed in terms of quality, staff competence and modernisation of internal operations.

Martin was also the first director of Curriculum Development and Management at MCAST whereby he led a major transformation of all vocational curricula from UK based qualifications to National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) across all economic sectors and across all levels of the Malta/European Qualifications Framework. During this time, Martin also co-ordinated the introduction of vocational subjects in secondary education.

On the international front, Martin has occupied the position of UNESCO-UNEVOC co-ordinator for Malta, European Alliances for Apprenticeships, National Co-ordinator for Bench learning, Board Member of the European Training Foundation and presided over events and seminars during Malta’s presidency of the European Union in 2017. Moreover, Martin has designed and implemented several EU funded projects since 2002.

Martin also occupied the position of Deputy Director at the Institute of Building and Construction Engineering (MCAST) and has lectured in several areas and courses at the University of Malta, MCAST, ITS, and Institute for Education.
